Manchester Museum Annual Report 2006-2007
Summary: 2006-2007 was an exceptional year for the Museum, with visitor numbers reaching over a quarter of a million for only the second time in the Museum’s history, and with significant increases in contacts with school groups, priority users, and increased numbers of courses drawing on the collection for teaching. Eight exhibitions were held, most of them exemplary cases of how a university museum can bring a distinctive focus to public engagement, and several of them dealing with topical and controversial issues such as slavery and race.
